ISO 45001 Permit and Safety Software

Most safety platforms claim ISO 45001 alignment and then hand you an empty system to configure. EZEE Portal ships an ISO 45001 baseline catalogue already populated, because the hardest part of adopting a standard is not agreeing with it — it is the three months of data entry before it becomes usable.

What actually arrives populated

A new tenant is seeded with a working catalogue rather than empty tables.

  • 9 standard permit types across fire, confined space, gravity, electrical, mechanical, chemical, physical and general categories
  • 27 hazards, each mapped to the permit types where it applies
  • 25 controls linked to the hazards they mitigate
  • 19 items of PPE, attached as defaults to the permit types that require them
  • 3 approval workflows spanning simple, standard and high-risk work
  • 7 defined roles covering initiation, issue, area ownership, performance, EHS review, gas testing and isolation

Hazard identification as a default, not a discipline

ISO 45001 puts hazard identification and risk assessment at its centre. The practical failure mode is not that teams disagree with this — it is that at the point of raising a permit, under time pressure, people list the hazards they remember rather than the hazards that apply.

Pre-mapping hazards to permit types inverts that. The defaults appear, and the conversation becomes what to add rather than what to recall.

The hierarchy of controls, expressed in the data

Controls are held as their own catalogue and linked to hazards, rather than being free text on a form. That structure is what allows a control to be reviewed, improved and applied consistently across every permit that carries the hazard, instead of being rewritten slightly differently each time.

Clone it, then make it yours

The baseline is a starting point. Your safety team clones any permit type into a designed template and adapts it — your terminology, your fields, your approval chain, your additional hazards. The standard gives you a defensible structure; the designer keeps it from being someone else's process imposed on your plant.

Certification is about evidence, and evidence is a by-product

Auditors ask for consistency over time: that hazards were identified, controls applied, work authorised by competent people and outcomes recorded. Every one of those is generated automatically as permits move through their stages, which is considerably more reliable than assembling it in the fortnight before an audit.

Try it on your own site

A self-service trial provisions a working tenant with the standard catalogue already loaded, so you can run a real process rather than watch a demo.

Frequently asked questions

Does using this software certify us to ISO 45001?

No. Certification is granted by an accredited body assessing your management system and practice. The software provides an ISO 45001 baseline catalogue and generates the records an auditor asks for, which supports certification work rather than replacing it.

What is included in the baseline catalogue?

Nine permit types, 27 hazards, 25 controls, 19 PPE items, three approval workflows and seven roles, with hazards and PPE already mapped to the permit types they apply to.

Can we change the seeded content?

Yes. Everything seeded can be cloned and modified through the permit designer, including hazards, controls, PPE requirements and approval workflows.

How does this relate to Indian statutory requirements?

ISO 45001 is a management-system standard and does not replace Indian law. It is commonly adopted alongside obligations under the OSH Code 2020 and its predecessor statutes.
